Low airfare to Sweden

Cheap tickets to Sweden

How to get to Sweden obviously depends on where you are coming from.

Low fares from Europe to Sweden

There are many budget and low fare airlines serving Sweden from European cities. Use our tables to find non-stop low fare flights to Stockholm, Gothenburg, or Malmö/Copenhagen. Also check with your country's flag carrier to see if they offer any specials before you book.

Low fares from North America to Sweden

The Swedish flag carrier is Scandinavian Airlines, SAS. SAS currently serves the following North American routes:

New York - Stockholm
New York - Copenhagen
Chicago - Stockholm
Seattle - Copenhagen
Washington DC - Copenhagen

If you live in New York or Chicago and want to go to Stockholm, by all means check with SAS. However, if you need to connect from other cities in the US, you have many more choices.

KLM has good connections from a number of US gateways to Sweden through Amsterdam. Amsterdam Schiphol is a very nice airport that is easy to connect at. KLM has good connections to Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö/Copenhagen. KLM flies in partnership with Northwest, so if you live in a city served by Northwest, KLM is a good choice.

Finnair to Helsinki is another good choice. From Helsinki you can connect to Stockholm, or you can take one of the many ferries/cruise ships that traffic the route to Stockholm. If you have an extra travel day it is highly recommendable. Finnair also has a very good Asian network, if you feel like continuing and making a circumnavigation. If you live on the US West Coast, it won't add that much to the price, and you can become a true "Globetrotter".

Lufthansa is another good choice. Connections are through Frankfurt or Munich. However Frankfurt is a very busy airport, and Munich is a bit of a detour on the way to Scandinavia.

If you live on the US East Coast, try Icelandair. You can add a stopover in Reykavik for a small extra fee.

What to avoid: Try to avoid connecting through New York (Newark or JFK) or London Heathrow unless you absolutely have to. Heathrow is a zoo, with bus transfers and security checkpoints galore. Not fun. Coming back through New York is also not fun. Delays are frequent, and so are missed connections.
